Inspired from a photo-series by the incredible and awesome documentary photographer Steve McCurry, I too began to observe the uniqueness of life that is bound around the steps and stairs throughout the city.
It is as though these steps and stairs have a soliloquy to share with us. They tell us an inner untold tale of a place or being. Irrespective of how fast life moves around us, when it comes to these steps and stairs, everything seems to just slow down all of a sudden. It is like the breather in a long sentence, from where we start over afresh.
“The vision must be followed by the venture.
It is not enough to stare up the steps – we must step up the stairs.”
~ Vance Havner
“Faith is taking the first step even when
you don’t see the whole staircase.”
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached,
don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”
“Step in, break through, take the stairs to the stars.”
“There are no mistakes. The events we bring upon ourselves,
no matter how unpleasant, are necessary
in order to learn what we need to learn;
whatever steps we take, they’re necessary
to reach the places we’ve chosen to go.”
~ Richard Bach
“Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps,
down new roads, armed with nothing but their own vision.”
~ Ayn Rand
“It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience,
including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path,
and to proceed.”
~ Ram Dass
“You must take the first step.
The first steps will take some effort, maybe pain.
But after that,
everything that has to be done is real-life movement.”
~ Ben Stein
“Hard work is like stairs and luck is like a lift,
sometimes the lift may fail but stairs will always take you at the top.”
~ Ritu Ghatourey
“Stairs are climbed, step by step.”
